Regeneration Across Inverclyde

Are you an Inverclyde resident?  Are you invested in the regeneration of your local area?

If so, how much do you know about Riverside Inverclyde (ri) and its role across Inverclyde?

ri is an Urban Regeneration Company with charitable status and two member organisations - Inverclyde Council & Scottish Enterprise. As both a public and private partnership, we aim to secure the long-term economic growth of Inverclyde. Now in its 10th year, ri has adopted one single and strategic objective:

"To advance economic growth through the exploitation of opportunity for the benefit of the business and residential community of Inverclyde."

There are many reasons we believe businesses should consider investing in Inverclyde. It's proximity to Glasgow provides fantastic links to the City Centre, Glasgow Airport and Greenock's Ocean Terminal. Financially, the cost of leasing office space in the area is also extremely reasonable compared to City Centre prices, providing substantial operational savings for small to medium businesses that can be reinvested into the business.

Inverclyde also offers a vast, skilled and motivated workforce, offering direct access to employees across West and Central Scotland. Thanks to Inverclyde's on-going programme of new residential and social housing, ri can provide a wide range of modern, high quality and affordable housing that meets every need. Not only that, but thanks to Inverclyde Council's £270 million investment in education facilities in the area, both you and your family can benefit from some of the outstanding campuses. What underpins both education and living in Inverclyde is the sense of Community that our citizens offer one another, offering a warmth and enthusiasm to all visitors.

Finally, attracting over 575,000 visitors per year and boasting some of the best facilities, beautiful scenery and a host of high profile events like the up and coming P1 Grand Prix of the Sea, the reasons to come to Inverclyde and invest both your life and business here are numerous.

ri is an established driving force throughout Inverclyde and our input includes introducing benefit clauses in contracts that provide further job opportunities and the setting up on Inverclyde's Construction Forum to increase the competitiveness and skills of Inverclyde's construction industry.  With Inverclyde benefitting from a further £86m investment as part of the wider £1bn Glasgow City Region deal, Inverclyde has a number of large build programmes proposed for the coming years.

ri's portfolio includes the £4.1m restoration and refurbishment of the iconic Custom House in Greenock, offering an outstanding facility for businesses to aspire and grow.  A further restoration project was developing Ladyburn School into an eye-catching building for social enterprise companies and artists.  Sitting on the wider Riverside Business Park, ri also delivered Clyde View and Ben Lomond View in 2011 and 2013 respectively, which house global giants IBM and Cigna Healthcare amongst its tenants.

Other developments include Kelburn Business Park in Port Glasgow, offering a wider range of Industrial and Office space to businesses. Completed in 2015, Kelburn offers units from 2,100 - 15,000 sq ft. Other enterprise hubs include Gourock Municipal Buildings and Scarlow House in Port Glasgow, which have been transformed into SME development suites aimed at helping start-up and smaller businesses to grow.

ri also provides sponsorship and grants to support both the Community and businesses, as well as working with community groups to support their aspirations. Examples include ri's sponsorship of the Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce Bee's Knees Event, Scotland's Boat Show held in Inverkip and the recent Inverclyde Sports Personality Awards. As part of the recent Custom House Development ri also worked alongside the Greenock Burns Club to deliver a first class tourist attraction for Robert Burns' enthusiasts.

Home to a variety of established businesses, we welcome new companies to be a part of our successful community. We provide investment opportunities for new and growing organisations, regardless of size and aim to support growth of SME's across Inverclyde.
