Riverside Inverclyde CEO Appointment

The Riverside Inverclyde (ri) Board has moved to confirm Fiona Maguire as the new Chief Executive of the Urban Regeneration Company.

Fiona was appointed Acting Chief Executive in September 2016 and the ri board has now extended this until March 2019.

Riverside Inverclyde Chair Gerry McCarthy said: “With the strong foundations for the delivery of the Inverclyde Economic Development & Regeneration Single Operating Plan in place, ri continues to deliver excellent project success with the wider economic benefits felt across Inverclyde. Our ability to promote from within the organisation is testament to the dynamic and high calibre staff that ri has. The Board and I are confident for the future of ri given the job that Fiona has delivered over the past 10 months as Acting CEO. This appointment enables Fiona to secure this year’s objectives and continue to drive the organisation forward. I would like to congratulate Fiona on her appointment and wish her every success in the role.”.

Fiona joined Riverside Inverclyde in February 2014 with over 25 years of experience working in the construction industry. A registered architect since graduating in 1989 from Dundee University, Fiona moved to Glasgow and has worked in private practice and the social housing sector, prior to joining ri..

Since taking over the role in 2016 the focus has been on the delivery of existing projects, but also the future benefits that ri can deliver for Inverclyde. I’m honoured to be the CEO of ri and look forward to delivering further economic growth to Inverclyde in the future.”.

Fiona is originally from Belfast, but has lived in Scotland for over 34 years. She is married with two grown-up daughters..

During her time at ri, Fiona had particular responsibility for the refurbishment of Gourock Municipal Buildings, Custom House and Port Glasgow and Gourock Town Centre physical regeneration projects, and enjoyed applying her extensive development experience to help improve these neighbourhoods.
