£17 Million Investment By River Clyde Homes To 'Improve Lives And Places'

River Clyde Homes has unveiled details of multi-million pound plans to improve housing in Inverclyde. Just over £17million will be spent in the coming year to upgrade homes and make them more energy efficient.

Software Training Scotland Expand Into Scarlow House

Software Training Scotland, the fast-growing SQA accredited learning centre has announced an expansion into Scarlow House Business Centre in Port Glasgow. Following a period of sustained growth and interest in its wide range of training courses, the company is the latest tenant to sign up with regeneration company Riverside Inverclyde, taking 204 square feet at Scarlow House Business Centre in Port Glasgow.

Ambitious Blueprint For Future Development In Inverclyde Given The Green Light

An ambitious blueprint for future development in Inverclyde has been given the go-ahead. Councillors backed plans to aimed to attract people people to the area by building new homes and regenerating of key sites.

Judy Murray Pledges Support For New £1.5m Inverclyde Tennis Academy

Famous tennis mum and coach Judy Murray OBE is set to inspire the next generation of talent in Inverclyde. Judy - whose Wimbledon-winning sons Andy and Jamie have both been world number 1 in the sport - has pledged to support a new £1.5 million indoor facility which will be developed in Inverclyde.

Housing Plan For Former School Site In Greenock

A housing association is moving forward with a plan to build nearly 60 properties on the site of a former Greenock school. Oak Tree want to develop 58 homes on the King's Glen land beside Kilmacolm Road. The dwellings would be in the form of two-storey housing and cottage flats.

Public Artwork Unveiled To Pay Tribute To The Industrial Past Of Greenock Community.

A striking new piece of public artwork has been unveiled to pay tribute to the industrial past of a Greenock community. The Broomhill Heritage Mural has been installed on the wall of the Whinhill Court car park on Ann Street.

Greenock Community Garden Expansion Agreed

A plan to expand Belville Community Garden Trust on to the site of the former high rise flats between Belville Street and St Lawrence Street, Greenock has been approved by Inverclyde Council planners. Raised planters to provide additional food growing space for the community are part of the proposal.

Owners Vow to Reopen Popular Gourock Pub

The owners of a Gourock pub which closed down suddenly this week have vowed that it will reopen. The Darroch Bar, also known locally as the Da Rock Bar, shut on Tuesday. But bosses from pub chain Admiral Taverns say the closure is only short-term and that they are working to find a solution to get the Shore Street premises back up and running.

Inverclyde Shortlisted For Two Top Social Services Awards

Inverclyde’s Health and Social Care Partnership has been shortlisted in two categories for the Scottish Social Services Awards 2018. The Birth Ties Support Project run by Adoption Services is in the running for the ‘Making research and evidence real’ category while Adoption Team Lead Amy McKellar has been shortlisted for the ‘Thought leadership’ award.

£250k Fund Announced To Promote Regional Produce

Small grants of around £5,000 each will be made available to promote Scottish produce. Recipients will include local food and drink producers, and regional food and drink networks, who traditionally can find funding difficult to attract.  The fund will open for applications in May and be overseen by Scotland Food & Drink.
