Stepwell expands into Lynedoch Industrial Estate
Riverside Inverclyde is delighted to welcome Stepwell and its trading subsidiary Fresh as its newest tenant at Lynedoch Industrial Estate in Greenock.
As an innovative and growing social enterprise company, Stepwell required a centralised industrial unit to support its current Fresh locations (Fresh Oak Mall and Fresh Gourock) as well as its own future growth plans. The space at Lynedoch will accommodate a training coffeehouse, development kitchen, a versatile hospitality training space as well as storage/distribution. As a fully integrated social business, the expansion is focussed on delivering the highest quality hospitality training for unemployed and more vulnerable young people as well as Stepwell's industry partners.
Angela Darroch, Head of Business at Stepwell said:
“Fresh is enjoying a period of success and continued growth and as a result we are delighted to be able to commit to taking critical space at Lynedoch Industrial Estate. This will enable us to expand the services we currently offer and continue to train people to the highest standards in barista sills, customer service and catering. Riverside Inverclyde has worked closely with us over the past year and we’d like to thank them for their support in making this happen so quickly.”
The Social Enterprise has committed to a 3 year lease at Lynedoch, taking 1,603 sq ft in total. It is expected to deliver up to 2 additional jobs as a result of the growth and offering training facilities to 100 people per year.
Riverside Inverclyde’s concept for Lynedoch Industrial Estate has been aimed primarily at supporting established SME companies, as well as a stepping stone for growth businesses. The estate offers variable sized units from 1,600 – 15,000 sq ft.
Andrew Bowman, Head of Business Investment at Riverside Inverclyde said:
“Riverside Inverclyde is delighted to welcome Stepwell to Lynedoch Industrial Estate. The facilities are perfect for what Fresh is aiming to deliver, and their expansion plans are something that ri has been supportive of throughout the past year. We wish Angela and her team continued success and look forward to helping further food and drink businesses to grow and invest in Inverclyde.”
