The aim of the regeneration is to strategically reshape the economic and environmental future of Inverclyde to enhance the competitiveness of the area as a place to work, live, visit, invest and do business.
As well as the physical changes in the area, Riverside Inverclyde's aims to alter perceptions, giving a positive message to the rest of the UK, and encouraging people working and living in the area to be inspired by the turn around.
Seven priority areas in total will be brought together to createa mixture of high quality residential, commercial, retail, leisure and public space, all with good links to the area's town centres. This will in turn open up investment, development and employment opportunities to residents, businesses and newcomers.
Bill Nicol, Chief Executive of Riverside Inverclyde said:
“Already visible changes are apparent in the area, however, regeneration does not happen over night and we ask for the support from all Inverclyde's communities to help us achieve our objectives, which will see the benefits of the regeneration spreading throughout.
“ Inverclyde is an area with huge potential and it is our job to ensure that the opportunities are presented.“ A sense of quality and something for everyone is essential.”
