New Community Benefits Champion for Riverside Inverclyde
Riverside Inverclyde (ri) has appointed a dedicated Community Benefits Manager. This demonstrates Riverside Inverclyde's commitment to its twin track approach to delivering its ambitious £400 million regeneration programme which involves ‘spreading the benefits of growth' to the people and businesses of Inverclyde.
New recruit Rachel Cowper becomes specifically tasked with linking Riverside Inverclyde's physical regeneration project portfolio to training, development and job opportunities for local people, as well as to opportunities for local businesses and suppliers.
Rachel brings with her in excess of 10 years experience in the Charity sector where she worked on fundraising from both the corporate and grant side of the economy for charities. A move into economic development, saw Rachel based firstly in South Yorkshire, working to attract new companies in the region and assist local companies grow and expand following the extensive Brownfield regeneration opportunities that where being developed through Objective 1 European funding.
In a subsequent role as International Business Development Manager, heading up the Foreign Investment Team for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Development Agency, Rachel was involved in researching/ targeting and analysing larger foreign companies who were looking at the UK for investment location opportunities and then project managing them through to final decision to locate / employ locally.
