Gerry Edwards OBE
Gerry Edwards is Vice President of Operations and Managing Director of National Semiconductor (UK) Ltd. He has spent most of his working life in the semiconductor industry, holding prominent roles both in Scotland and internationally, including positions with Texas Instruments in the USA and Philips in Europe.
Gerry holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from Lancaster University and an MBA from the University of Wales. He is President of Scottish Engineering, Chairman of the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service, a Director of the National Micro-electronics Institute and a Non-Executive Director of Scottish Enterprise Renfrewshire.
In 2002, Gerry received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Paisley in recognition of his contribution to manufacturing, and in the 2007 Birthday Honours Awards he was appointed an Officer of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to Scottish business.
Gerry lives in Kilmacolm with his wife Keren and young son Rhys. In his spare time he enjoys riding his motorcycle and scuba diving.
