Our Approach
Riverside Inverclyde's initial focus of work will be on changing perceptions of the area and physical, place making redevelopment along the waterfront. We aim to create an environment where economic growth can be stimulated, and where resident and business communities at and beyond the waterfront will begin to reap the benefits of the area's economic rejuvenation.In order to secure these benefits and build upon positive trends and developments, we recognise that there must be a supporting strategic and integrated partnership approach between ourselves and the public and private sectors. Together, we have agreed upon five priorities that make up the foundations of our ongoing blueprint:
INFRASTRUCTURE, CONNECTIVITY AND ENVIRONMENT
Riverside Inverclyde will ensure the provision of infrastructure and a quality environment to support the regeneration of Inverclyde. Access to the opportunities created is paramount.
BUSINESS PROPERTY
Riverside Inverclyde will create new, quality modern business space that will support existing, and accommodate new business activity. In addition, existing business locations will be upgraded and optimised.
RESIDENTIAL
A superior choice of affordable to luxury waterfront housing will be created to accommodate a range of different needs and opportunities. Riverside Inverclyde will work closely with River Clyde Homes to ensure that sustainable communities are created and rebuilt.
BUSINESS SKILLS AND LEARNING
At Riverside Inverclyde we recognise that the social and economic regeneration of the waterfront is as equally important as the physical regeneration. We will ensure the delivery of a range of activities based on the themes of maximising community benefit and optimising entrepreneurial endeavour.
TOURISM
Inverclyde's prime scenic location on the Clyde Estuary provides extensive opportunities for leisure and water sport activities as well as related coastal development, including new marinas, marina extensions, piers and slipways.
