“Now is the time to focus on Inverclyde's many strengths and how they can be re-energised to build a better Inverclyde, a community everyone is proud to call home.”
- Alf Young, Chair of Riverside Inverclyde
The regeneration of a whole new Inverclyde is already underway. Covering over four and a half miles of prime waterfront location from Port Glasgow to Greenock, the drive behind this 10-year project is continuously growing. Riverside Inverclyde is delighted by the wealth of interest being shown over a range of development opportunities, from residential through to commercial and leisure.
In total, Riverside Inverclyde will deliver 77 hectares of prime development land for sustainable economic purposes. This land will accommodate:
• 35,000 m2 of superior business space
• 7,000 m2 of retail and leisure space
• 22,500 m2 of education and training space
• 2,285 high quality housing units
• 500 berths for leisure craft

In total, these outputs are estimated to require a total investment of around £400 million, over the 10 years of proposed development. This is levered by Riverside Inverclyde's investment of £65 million, (real, including land receipts) meaning an investment leverage ratio of 1:4.5. Thus for each £1 invested by Riverside Inverclyde, another £4.50 is invested by partners. Over 95% of levered investment is assessed as being by the private sector.
