It is intended that the Legal Services Framework will be for newly instructed work from the date of appointment for a period of four years with ri having, at its option, the right to extend the framework for a further year by notice in writing to that effect.

PROCESS

If you intend to submit a tender for the Legal Services Framework please inform ri of this and submit any questions regarding this tender by e-mail only to Sharon Hodgson at  sharon.hodgson@riversideinverclyde.com  no later than 5pm on 18 July 2008.

1 JULY 2008 - TENDER FOR PUBLIC ART PROJECT: RIVERSIDE BUSINESS PARK

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

The first phase of speculative office development at Riverside Business Park will be the first major development undertaken by Riverside Inverclyde, and it is important that it sets a quality standard to which other urban regeneration projects in Inverclyde aspire.

The first phase of construction includes a two storey office development designed by architects Cooper Cromar.  It is to be finished in pale coloured reconstituted sandstone, with blue terracotta tiles and zinc roofing.

A site at the east end of this rectangular office block has been identified as an indicative location for an artwork installation that will give an identity to the site and mark the start of a series of  public art projects on developments along Inverclyde's Waterfront.  This location is indicative only, and the actual location will be largely dependant upon the nature of the final artwork, and how the installation relates to the building and surrounding environment.

There is an opportunity to create a statement piece which could become part of the identity for Riverside Business Park.  It could also become a landmark adjacent to the A8 trunk road, the main arterial route through Port Glasgow to Greenock.

The overall style for the business park is contemporary, attractive and robust.   The setting for the artwork is within a landscaped environment, and elevated from the A8 road corridor.

TIMESCALE

It is proposed the selection of artists will take place in mid July to allow  consultation  to start with a view to commissioning the work in late August.

Building  starts on site in the autumn of 2008.  Advance hard and soft landscaping works have already started and will be complete by June 2008.
