Thousands Of Cruise Ship Passengers From MSC Meraviglia Receive Warm Welcome In Inverclyde

Thousands of cruise ship passengers were given a warm Inverclyde welcome as they disembarked the biggest cruise ship ever to visit the area. Giant MSC Meraviglia made her maiden stop in Greenock yesterday with more than 5,000 guests and some 1,500 crew on board.

Arrival Of Biggest Cruise Ship To Visit The Clyde

MSC Meraviglia, the fifth largest cruise ship in the world, was at Greenock Ocean Terminal on Friday 4 May. The 171,598-tonne ship is the biggest cruise ship to come to the Clyde.

The 30 x 12m marquee will see the creation of a street food market, offering a delicious selection of food from vendors from Inverclyde and across the West Coast of Scotland. Local vendors confirmed include Three Sisters Bake, Jax Snax at the Marina, One Cove Road Cafe, Bay Ices, La Cinquecento Pasta and Pizzeria, DJ's, Foal Craft Soda, Nutcrafter Creamery, Betty May's Fudge, Chipstix in Scotland, Moonbow Bakery and A Spoonful of Sugar.

Stars Film New TV Drama In Greenock

Filming for a major network TV drama starring Scottish actors John Hannah and Kelly MacDonald has resumed in Inverclyde Cast and crew involved in new BBC One drama 'The Victim' are back in town shooting scenes for the show, which is being made by STV Productions.

Plastic straws are now barred from Inverclyde's biggest nightclub in a bid to cut down on harmful waste. The owners of Word Up in Greenock have stopped providing customers with them in a bid to become more environmentally-friendly.

Vandals Torch Community Garden

Mindless vandals have deliberately torched an area of a popular community garden in Greenock. Yobs destroyed a new raised bed at the Belville Community Garden which has been built for local residents to use as a vegetable plot.
